Do you know that regular vaccinations are necessary to help keep your pet disease free?
Our recommendation is for your dog or cat to have annual vaccinations and these are essential if your pet will be staying in a boarding kennel at any stage.
Dogs are routinely vaccinated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus and Kennel Cough.
Cats are routinely vaccinated against Feline enteritis and Cat flu.
Rabbits are routinely vaccinated against Calicivirus.
This year, Vets around Melbourne have being seeing an increasing number of dogs and puppies affected by Parvovirus and this disease is often fatal. The pets that survive require intensive and expensive treatment. Here at Patterson River we have had fatalities despite intensive care. It is a disease seen more over the summer so if your pet has not had a vaccination for a while then please make an appointment to prevent any heartache.
Prevention is and easier and more cost effective option than treatment.
